What does the saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is,” mean?

It means that when someone tells you of a guaranteed investment, that will give you incredible returns, with little risk, it is not true. The higher the return, the greater the risks. This should alert you that there could be fraud, and you should run away from this opportunity.
