Federal Taxes

What if I am self-employed and I am my own employer?

You are responsible for making a deposit with the IRS for any taxes that you owe on a quarterly basis. Quarterly taxes need to be filed on January 15, April 15, June 15, and September 15 each year.

Self-employed individuals need to pay taxes out of pocket, paying estimated federal taxes (and possibly state government, if applicable) four times a year.
