What is a CPA?

A CPA is a certified public accountant, which means that they have passed the CPA examination, administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and have been certified by their state to practice accounting. CPAs also must have five years of education and coursework, real life work experience, and must complete continuing education coursework each year.
