What is a conflict of interest in financial planning?

A conflict of interest is when the planner may benefit financially from the investment choices that they offer you. Those choices may be subjective and biased because the commissioned financial planners may limit the choices offered to you, and only steer you in the direction of the financial investments that help them earn commissions.
