What is a health savings account?

A health savings account (HSA) is a medical savings account that offers consumers a tax advantage, since they pay no federal income taxes at the time of deposit for the funds that are deposited. The money can be used to pay for health expenses or out of pocket expenses related to your medical care. The funds that are in the account can be rolled over from year to year.
