Always save each and every receipt whenever you make a charge on your card, no matter how small. Although many companies are only printing a few digits of the number on the actual receipt, if you leave your receipt at the gas pump or register, someone can obtain some information from the receipt. Make sure that you reconcile or check each receipt against your monthly statement.
