Why was Pierre-Joseph Proudhon against women’s rights? |
In his Pornocractie (1875) Proudhon argued that if women were allowed to vote and secured other legal equalities with men, the institution of marriage would decline over time, because women would not need men to support them financially. Proudhon thought that this single state of men and women would result in widespread prostitution.
