What is an image? |
Suppose light falls on your face. Light is reflected diffusely from this surface. That is, it is reflected into a wide variety of directions. Consider a very tiny object, like the end of an eyelash. Light from that point will leave in many directions. That point is called an object. An optical device can cause the light rays from the object to converge again to a single point. That point is called the image.
