Momentum and Energy

Momentum

Why do we need to introduce momentum and energy? Aren’t Newton’s Laws good enough?

Newton’s laws could be used, but when you analyze the motion of more than a few interacting objects, Newton’s laws are just too complicated. When you use momentum and energy you concentrate on the beginning and end of an interaction, not on the details of the interaction.
