Yes, George had several siblings. He was the oldest of five children. George had three brothers and one sister.

He also had two older half-brothers, Lawrence and Augustine, who were the product of his father’s first marriage. George was particularly close to his older half-brother, Lawrence, who watched over George after his father died when he was only eleven years old.
