Did Roosevelt support World War I? |
Yes, and he even offered his services to create a volunteer unit, as he did during the Spanish–American War of 1898. However, President Woodrow Wilson declined his offer. All of his sons—Theodore, Kermit, Archibald, and Quentin—served in World War I. Quentin lost his life in the war, after his plane was shot down by the Germans.
