What did Cleveland do in his four years between presidential terms?

During the tenure of President Benjamin Harrison’s presidency, Cleveland lived the good life in New York City with his wife, Frances. They attended countless Broadway shows and plays and played cribbage. But, Cleveland also sought legal work. He worked “of counsel” with the New York City law firm Bangs, Stetson, Tracy, and MacVeagh. He often worked on appointment from the courts as a referee or arbitrator.
