What other war was the U.S. involved in while Truman was president?

The Korean War took place between 1950 and 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea, which had been conquered by Japan, was divided into North and South Korea. North Korea was a communist country, while South Korea was a democratic country. When North Korea invaded South Korea, Truman believed military action was necessary to stop the spread of Communism.
