What was the “Domino Principle”?

The “Domino Principle” was a term used by President Eisenhower to explain the threat of Communist expansion. He explained that the spread of Communism would have severe ramifications: “You have a row of dominoes set up, you knock over the first one, and what will happen to the last one is the certainty that it will go over very quickly.”
