Who was his vice president?

To the chagrin of some of his supporters, Kennedy chose Lyndon B. Johnson of Texas as his running mate. The two did not see eye-to-eye on some issues, but Johnson helped Kennedy carry the key state of Texas in the election. On Kennedy’s assassination, Johnson assumed the presidency and later won reelection in 1964.
