What is meant by the phrase “resurrection of the body”?

Christians believe that all who have died will rise again when Jesus Christ comes in glory at the end of the world. Humanity’s rising will be patterned on the resurrection of Jesus: “He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into His presence” (II Corinthians 4:14). Christians believe that human beings are called not to be simply souls or spirits, but to be fully alive, in body and in soul. Thus, the entire human person—body and soul—is destined to share eternal life with God in Heaven. Christians share this belief with religious/spiritual descendants of the Pharisees as well as with Muslims.
