Do animals have color vision?

Most reptiles and birds appear to have a well-developed color sense. Most mammals, however, are color-blind. Apes and monkeys have the ability to tell colors apart. Dogs can distinguish shades of grey and see various shades of blue. Cats seem to be able to distinguish between greens and blues.
