How large is the brain?

The brain weighs about 3 pounds (1.4 kilograms). The average brain has a volume of 71 cubic inches (1,200 cubic centimeters). In general, the brain of males averages about ten percent larger than those of females due to overall differences in average body size. The brain contains approximately 100 billion neurons and 1 trillion neuroglia. There is no correlation between brain size and intelligence.
