How much fluid do the kidneys remove from the blood?

The kidneys filter about 48 gallons (182 liters) of blood daily and produce about 4 ounces of filtrate per minute. About 1.5 to 2 quarts (1.4 to 1.9 liters) of urine is eventually excreted per day.
