Is coffee native to Columbia or Brazil?

Although premium coffee is today grown in the mountains of Central and South America, the coffee tree (Coffea arabica) is native to Ethiopia. Coffee was widely used in the Arab world before its introduction to European society in the seventeenth century. North and South American coffee plantations were started in the eighteenth century.
