Energy, Motion, and Force

What are the two forms of energy?

The two forms of energy are kinetic energy and potential energy. Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by an object as a result of its motion while potential energy is the energy possessed by an object as a result of its position. As an example, a ball sitting on top of a fence has potential energy. When the ball falls off the fence it has kinetic energy. The potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy.
