What is limnology? |
Limnology is the study of freshwater ecosystems—especially lakes, ponds, and streams. These ecosystems are more fragile than marine environments since they are subject to great extremes in temperature. F.A. Forel (1848–1931), a Swiss professor, has been called the father of limnology.
