What is the largest group of vertebrates?

The largest group of vertebrates is fishes. They are a diverse group and include almost 25,000 species—almost as many as all the other groups of vertebrates combined. Most members of this group are osteichythes, or “bony fishes,” which include basses, trout, and salmon.
