When was the term Web 2.0 first used?

The term Web 2.0 was first used in 2004 during a brainstorming conference between Tim O’Reilly (1954–) of O’Reilly Media and MediaLive International. Rather than believing as some had that the Web had “crashed” following the dot.com collapse, it was a turning point for the Web to become a platform for collaborative effort between Internet users, providers, and enterprises.
