After the verdict, what happened to Charlotte Anita Whitney?

California governor Clement Calhoun Young pardoned Whitney in June 1927. Named national party chairman of the Communist Party in 1936, she unsuccessfully ran for a U.S. Senate seat in 1950. She died in San Francisco in 1955.
