James Metzenbaum represented the Village of Euclid before the U.S. Supreme Court. He wrote a prominent treatise on zoning law entitled The Law of Zoning (1930). His cousin was Howard M. Metzenbaum who served for twenty years as a U.S. senator from Ohio.
