The Burger Court (1969–86)Introduction |
What technological advances occurred during the Burger Court era? |
During the Burger Court era, the Court saw many technological advances. When Burger became chief justice, the Court had only one photocopying machine and the justices still used carbon paper to circulate their opinions to each other. Burger changed that by obtaining more copiers, leading to the justices providing each other with photocopies of their draft opinions. In 1981, Burger Court justices also obtained their first personal computers.
