The Roberts Court (2005–present)Introduction |
Who are the conservative and liberal justices on the current Roberts Court? |
The terms conservative and liberal mean different things to different people, as the terms themselves have been overused. But Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito are generally considered to be the conservative wing of the Court. Justices John Paul Stevens, David Souter, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg are considered to be the more liberal justices on the Court. Justices Anthony Kennedy and Stephen Breyer are often the “swing votes” in certain cases.
