At any one time, how many thunderstorms are occurring? |
As astronauts orbiting our planet—especially over the night side—can attest, there are thunderstorms happening all over the place, all the time. On average, scientists believe there are about 2,000 active thunderstorms happening at any given time, day or night. This gives us about 16 million thunderstorms every year.
