Do rainbows ever appear by moonlight?

Yes, if there are raindrops in the air, and the Moon is full and low on the horizon, the result can be a nighttime rainbow—or “moonbow.” Usually, such a rainbow does not have the vibrant hues of its daytime cousin, appearing in muted or whitish shades. A moonbow is a rare and stunning sight.
