How warm can it get in Antarctica?

Antarctica is not always an icebox perpetually below freezing. During the summer months, it can often get into the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit (4 to 14°C). The warmest temperature on record thus far on the continent is 59°F (15°C) at Vanda Station on January 5, 1974.
