Air and Air Pressure

What is sea-level air pressure

The air pressure at sea level averages 29.92 inches of mercury, or 1,013.25 millibars (mb). No matter what their elevations, weather stations calculate barometric pressures in their area according to what they would be at sea level. In this way, reports remain consistent everywhere.
