Orange Creamsicle

One of my most loved mall foods when I was growing up in South Carolina was the Orange Julius. This smoothie is an attempt to recreate that drink without all of the crap. It is high in vitamin C and healthy fat from the coconut. The turmeric is an optional anti-inflammatory boost. This is a great smoothie in the morning because it is filling and very stable on the blood sugar.

  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1 cup young coconut meat
  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon coconut butter
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
