How are sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) transmitted?

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are usually transmitted via sexual contact between individuals. Any form of sexual activity, including anal, oral, and vaginal sex, may spread an STD. In addition, sexually transmitted diseases may be spread from a mother to her baby during childbirth.
