How do heart rate and the rate of respiration differ between a neonate and an adult?

The average neonate heart rate is 120 to 140 beats per minute, compared to a resting heart rate of 60 to 80 beats per minute in an adult. The average respiratory rate for a neonate is 30 breaths per minute, compared to 12 to 28 breaths per minute in an adult.
