Why is it important to protect the kidneys? |
The kidneys are protected from day-to-day jolts and shocks by the adipose tissue and renal fascia. If the fibers of the dense connective tissue break, the kidney will be able to move to the abdominal area. Movement of the kidney, called floating kidney or nephroptosis, is dangerous because the ureters of renal blood vessels may become twisted.
