There are several theories on what specific mental illness afflicted Nebuchadnezzar. One theory is that Nebuchadnezzar suffered from clinical lycanthropy, a condition in which a person believes he is an animal, maybe even a werewolf. Another theory is that Nebuchadnezzar suffered from paralytic dementia as a result of an advanced case of syphilis.
