Paul’s Letters

How did Paul encourage Timothy?

Paul encouraged Timothy by reminding him of the gift of God in him. “For,” Paul added, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (KJV, II Timothy 1:7) In addition, Paul reminded Timothy of his background. He wrote, “But continue thou in the things which thou has learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou has learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (KJV, II Timothy 3:14–15)
