How many stops did the Israelites make in the wilderness?

They stopped and set up camp forty-two times of the forty years they spent in the wilderness. Because God told Moses to write down the stages of the journey, there is a record of all the stops the Israelites made. (Numbers 33) However, because place names have changed many times over the years, the exact route cannot be determined.
