What concerns did John address in his letter to Pergamum?

John called Pergamum “Satan’s throne,” because it was the region’s center of Roman emperor worship. Also, Pergamum was famous for its enormous altar to Zeus. Amid an environment that was hostile to Christianity, the Christians in Pergamum maintained their faith. John praised them for this. Still, John scolded the Christians in Pergamum because there were some among them who dabbled in pagan worship.
