What did Boaz do when the kinsman refused the land—and Ruth?

Boaz claimed the right of next of kin. He bought the land and married Ruth. Boaz was a distant relative, not a brother of Naomi’s husband. Boaz went beyond the letter of the law to provide protection for his relatives.
