What did the other kinsman say about protecting or marrying Ruth? |
When Boaz approached the other kinsman, Boaz began by saying that he was acting on Naomi’s behalf in selling a piece of land that had belonged to her husband. The kinsman, because he was the next relative, had “dibs” on purchasing the property first. Boaz added that Ruth was part of the purchase, so that the dead man’s name would continue. The kinsman refused.
