The spirit of God entered him, and he tore the lion to pieces. Then Samson made a couple of selfish, unholy decisions. First, he did not tell his mother and father what happened. Since he was a Nazirite, his parents would make him observe the eight-day purification ritual. Presumably, Samson did not want to participate in that. Second, when Samson found bees and a honeycomb in the lion carcass, he ate of the honey and took some to his parents as well. Samson did not care that eating something from a dead animal made him and his parents ritually unclean.
