What is the book of Daniel about?

The book of Daniel is made up of two parts. The first part consists of biographical material concerning David and his friends. Daniel and his friends survived under harsh, deadly conditions because they kept the tenets of their faith. They remembered the Hebrews’ covenant with God. The second part, Chapters 7 –12, consists of Daniel’s dreams. The theme of the dreams is that God’s people will suffer, but afterwards, they will be restored to him forever.
