What is the book of Genesis about?

The word “genesis” means beginning or source. The book of Genesis is about that—all kinds of beginnings. It is about how God began a relationship with people. It is about the beginning of the earth, the sun and moon, people, marriage, families, animals, agriculture, music, and sin.
