What were Paul’s recommendations for right living?

Paul suggested that the Colossians rid themselves of “fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed.” (NRSV, Colossian 3:5) Instead, they should practice “compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” (NRSV, Colossians 3:12) In addition, Paul emphasized the importance of forgiveness and all-encompassing love.
