Images of Jesus, the cross, and/or Mary have been seen in toast, wood grain, water stains, and other everyday objects. For instance, a week before Christmas Day in 1996, someone noticed what looked like a rainbow-hued image of the Virgin Mary on the windows of a Clearwater, Florida bank. The image attracted a few onlookers. Then the image attracted people from all over the world. Some people believed the sixty-foot image was a sign from God. Others believed the image was a stain of some sort. In 2004, someone vandalized the shrine by breaking the top window panes.
