Apocrypha

Who helped Nebuchadnezzar organize the army?

The general of the army, Holofernes. Holofernes led the army and destroyed many of the targeted nations. Other countries got wind of this, and sent ambassadors to Holofernes begging for clemency. Holofernes traveled to some of those towns, where the people “welcomed him with garlands and dances and tambourines.” (NRSV, Judith 3:7) Unmoved by their gesture of hospitality, Holofernes demolished their shrines and sacred groves.
