Who was Isaiah?

Isaiah, whose name means “salvation of the lord,” was a prophet active during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, all kings of the southern kingdom of Judah. The years of Isaiah’s work spanned about 740–700 B.C.E. He was passionately committed to spreading the word of God.
