Why did the Israelites name a place the Hill of the Foreskins?

No Israelite men were circumcised in the wilderness. At God’s command, Joshua had the Israelites renew their covenant with God by having the men circumcised at Gibeath-haaraloth. “Gibeath-haaraloth” means “Hill of the Foreskins.”
